The founder of DROMI, Dr. Rhoda Oluwatuberu Makinde and the entire DROMI family express gratitude to God Almighty for the gift of a promising year filled with hopes and aspirations for increase and new beginning.
We appreciate all our supporters and associates, our admirers and lovers, DROMI departments and members who contributed to DROMI success story in the year 2019.
Our sincere appreciation to the Visioneer, Dr. Rhoda Oluwatoberu Makinde, who has personally funded DROMI Intervention programmes because of her vision and compassion for a better individual, family and society at large.
It is imperative to mention some of our numerous life-changing programmes embarked upon last year to remember the road we have travelled while hoping for a more promising and fulfilling DROMI intervention calendar year. Our transformational and impactful intervention is programmes in the 2019 underlined our unflinching commitment to the welfare and well-being of the senior citizens, youths, widows, women, unemployed, underemployed, and the less privileged in the society.
In the 2019 DROMI programme calendar, we were able to organize Free Skill Acquisition Training and Empowerment for unemployed and underemployed women in more than 6 states of the federation. The training train moved through Lagos, Oyo, Ogun, Osun, Delta, Rivers, and to more than 7 Local Government Areas of Ondo state. We rolled out an Interest Free loan to market women, 3D epoxy floor tiles and wallpaper training for youths, Free health fair for all, Free cooking competition and training for food vendors in Ibadan and Ondo town, Free school bags and books to secondary School students, support for people with special needs, DROMI mobile clinic for health care emergency responses, besides numerous individual and direct intervention programmes.
2019 DROMI intervention programmes was able to reach over 2000 beneficiaries. 2019 was fulfilled!
We have proven to be the number one Non- Governmental Organisation in the country that truly delivers on transforming lives through evidenced based programs that focus on expanding women's right and security, youths empowerment and advancing women's political participation through an integrated approach that promotes gender equality across the society.
Our programmes have been aimed towards many of the Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs, namely No Poverty, Zero Hunger, Gender Equality, Good Health and Well-Being, Reduce Social Inequalitie among others, as designed by the United Nation, UN, being the interest of every well meaning individual on the planet earth.
Therefore, moving forward in 2020 to another decade of humanitarian work, and as we match to join the United Nation (UN) andh the rest of the world, in achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, #SDGs, to be achieved before year 2030, I urged DROMI family to be steadfast in love for humanity, commitment to changing lives, and determination to change the world for better. Let us do more in this new year.
