AMOTEKUN: NIGERIA YOUTH PARLIAMENT COMMENDS SOUTHWEST GOVERNORS.
The southwest caucus of the Nigerian Youth Parliament has commended the Governors of the six states of the southwest under the leadership of Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, Ondo State Governor and Chairman of southwest Governors forum for the diplomacy and patriotism employed in resolving the issue of Amotekun.
in a statement signed by the chairman, Hon. Odun Akinyele, the NYP is bold to say that the Amotekun Security Outfit as set up by the six Governors of the Southwest States is a community policing initiative to solve the problem of insecurity in the Southwest.
The primary purpose of Government is protection of lives and properties and thus the Governors have the constitutional obligation to protect their people and safeguard the region from kidnapping, robbery and killings that has become a daily occurrence in the Southwest.
The youths of the Southwest as represented by the Nigerian Youth Parliament are solidly in support of the Governors and people of the Southwest on the necessity of the Amotekun security outfit.
Hon Odun Akinyele also thanked Gov Akeredolu for hosting members of the Parliament in his office when they paid him a working visit last week.
The NYP will continue to provide representaton to the youths and protect their interest at all times.
