NECO Staff With Fake Certificates Will Be Prosecuted – ICPC
Following a request from the desk of National Examination Council (NECO) Registrar, Professor Obioma Godswill, the body of Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) is ready to prosecute some staff of NECO body for alleged possession of forge and fake certificates.
The prosecution of NECO staff in question came not quite long after the staff verification exercise report by the office of governing council of NECO revealed it to them that some staff in the agency was working with forge certificates. National examination council Registrar urged the ICPC to act right on the report of the exercise, which have been submitted earlier to the Commission.
The boss of National examination council further solicited for the help of Commission in tackling all examination malpractices, which add that the steadily partnerships with the Commission against any forms of corruption and would give credibility to NECO processes and examinations.
Prof. Godswill Obioma has revealed that the agency would soon introduce (CCTV) Closed Circuit Television cameras in all examination halls across Nigeria in other to reduce examination misconduct, impersonation and improve its general operations.
On reacting to this, Chairman of ICPC in person of Prof. Owasanoye noted that the special centres and fake certificates was becoming too many and has assured the Commission of its assistance in tackling corruption in NECO and all the education sector.
